A utilização de momentos ativos em sala de aula é referida como uma boa prática inegável no Ensino Superior, constando inclusive da lista dos Seven Principles For Good Practice in Undergraduate Education (Chickering & Gamson). Em ensino remoto é possível, em sessões síncronas, planear momentos ativos para potenciar a aprendizagem e aumentar o envolvimento dos estudantes. Neste workshop iremos, assim, distinguir Active de passive learning, identificar estratégias de active learning passíveis de conduzir em aulas síncronas remotas e clarificar a diferença entre Ensino à distância (EaD) e Ensino remoto de emergência (ERE). Objectives By the end of the course the students will be able to: Course Description This course focuses on the communicative approach to the teaching of the English language. Through materials created or adapted specifically to this context, the teacher will provide thought-provoking situations in which the students will feel the urge or the need to participate and feel engaged in the activities suggested in the lessons. The focus will be on productive skills (Speaking and Writing), although an integrated skills is necessary and unavoidable. A text may lead to a writing task or a listening activity may be used as motivation for a discussion or role-play. The ultimate objective of this course is to provide an English-speaking environment where students feel comfortable as non-native speakers to express themselves and to provide them with a degree of independence and confidence needed to attend conferences abroad, to participate in international research projects and even, in some cases, to teach in English. Evaluation to be arranged Requirements B1/B2 Placement test If you haven’t attended the academic courses or haven’t done a test with our English-teaching team before, you need to book one so we know your level of English and place you in the right class. It will all be done online this year.
